Goedike wrote his Concert Etude in G minor, Op. 49, in 1936. Version for trumpet in Bb & piano. Lively piece in G minor distinguished by its extensive double tonguing passages and memorable melody in rondo form. Fairly short work includes a more lyrical B theme, but primarily maintains a lively, aggressive pace.
Goedike wrote his Concert Etude, Op. 49, in 1936, at a time in which the Russian trumpet school was entering a period of change. When the Concert Piece was being written, Bb trumpets with Périnet valves were a novelty in Russia.
