Saxophone Sonata

II. With Tranquility

Composer : Paul Creston
Title : Sonata
Period : 20th Century

II. With Tranquility from P. Creston's Sonata for alto saxophone & piano. This well-known piece is played by most saxophonists. Curious fact: in 1978 at GAP, where Creston was a member of the INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION jury, he asked to change the tempo markings (too fast for his liking) of the second movement. The second movement can be played at approximately 52-56.
